I've been watching "10 Cards One Kit" videos on YouTube for inspiration since I have a tendency to overthink everything and accomplish nothing LOL. The following card I gave to my grandson for his birthday yesterday. I've had the Jolee's globe sticker forever and thought he would like it since he's interested in maps and is learning about the solar system. He did! The papers from the Happiness and Sunshine kit made a great background reminding me of sun-rays and stars. I added glitter to the sun I fussy cut from one of the papers and sequins to the star-like paper for sparkle.<br /><br />

Love These Sunny Days</h2>
<br />
Wow, totally forgot how to do this blogger thing, so we'll see how this goes. Trying to get my card making mojo back. I made this card using Tim Holtz and Spellbinder dies. Beautiful Saturday here, sunny and warm but not too warm. On the deck with an iced tea. Ah, wish every day was like this.<br />

There are two family birthdays in mid-August and five the first week of September! Between the birthdays and my daughter's wedding coming up the beginning of October I am overwhelmed with paper and other crafty projects! The first card below features a working pinwheel that can be removed from the card. This is for <span class="st">❤</span>Ellie, who is turning 6, my youngest granddaughter.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">If you would like to make one, start with your basic square pinwheel design, the directions can be found on many online sites. A skewer or chopstick can be trimmed to the size wanted for the stick. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzXZohR7buAM8f9NZaajnK7EuBL3pNfSIbebMj4ZTg2mPuj7AbxkFa6sB3ToLEuXvKMblw2F1Eml7mkmjLV4N3572ku7BwH6XfTrOMUdrVPq9zdidbAmXncZcGOlkQ8oKEeLxswgDnb0qB/s1600/ElliePinwheel.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzXZohR7buAM8f9NZaajnK7EuBL3pNfSIbebMj4ZTg2mPuj7AbxkFa6sB3ToLEuXvKMblw2F1Eml7mkmjLV4N3572ku7BwH6XfTrOMUdrVPq9zdidbAmXncZcGOlkQ8oKEeLxswgDnb0qB/s640/ElliePinwheel.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>Using two lengths of floral wire, thread them through a button, then through a bead, then the pinwheel, then another bead, then twist the wire firmly around the stick. Be sure to curl the end of the wire inward so there won't be any sharp ends. Leave a little "play" between the button, beads and pinwheel so it will spin nicely.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeOSwQhykWHks-VlMehyTRbeGKR2kvwMyokwMOv6jhURpfGGk8oso0LTia_8kB-Eje9yALkOmC1tV6HLT29A2Te-M2_Z1OorkuHndNYvaBsJTw0acUVrCU1tuNEkPsZF8RMfTt3n2HstT4/s1600/EllieStanding.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="510" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeOSwQhykWHks-VlMehyTRbeGKR2kvwMyokwMOv6jhURpfGGk8oso0LTia_8kB-Eje9yALkOmC1tV6HLT29A2Te-M2_Z1OorkuHndNYvaBsJTw0acUVrCU1tuNEkPsZF8RMfTt3n2HstT4/s640/EllieStanding.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>I wanted the pinwheel to be easy to remove and put back onto the card so I fashioned a tube with coordinating card stock and some ribbon then glued it to the card. I handmade the little flower in the corner (http://paperoasis.blogspot.com/2011/05/dream-card-bargain-shopping-and-paper.html). The bear and his little pinwheel are from <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-Cartridge-Create-a-Critter/dp/B003EQ4LES?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Create a Critter</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B003EQ4LES" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important;" width="1" /><iframe align="left" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=papoas-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=B003EQ4LES&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="align: left; height: 245px; padding-right: 10px; padding-top: 5px; width: 131px;"></iframe>.<br />
<br />
The next card is for my 12 year old granddaughter <span class="st">❤</span>Ruthie. She went to a party this summer where the girls decorated flip-flops so I thought this was so appropriate. I designed and cut the flip-flops using <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-DesignStudio-Software-Bonus-Pack/dp/B0012NCIPY?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Design Studio</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B0012NCIPY" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important;" width="1" /> and the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-George-Cartridge/dp/B000W0MYAM?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">George and Basic Shapes</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B000W0MYAM" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important;" width="1" /> cart. I "cheated" a bit and used the flip-flops from Cricut's <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Provo-Craft-Novelty-Cricut-290707/dp/B002162JAU?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Life is a Beach</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B002162JAU" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important;" width="1" /> cartridge as a template. I don't own Life is a Beach but Design Studio allows you to work with all the shapes from all the cartridges on screen but you can only cut from the ones you own. So I welded some skewed ovals and other shapes together from George to form the flip-flops using Life is a Beach as a guide. It worked great!<br />

And I'm not even showing you the rest of the room! I want to add a working pinwheel to my granddaughter's birthday card. I finally figured out how to do it - it works - now, to make the card to put it on...<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hello everyone, I hope you are having a simply fabulous summer! I wanted to share my latest card and some photos I took along the way when creating it. As you can see, it is a stair-step card. I chose the colors pink, yellow and orange for the flowers because I think they are so warm and summery and just plain pretty together.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz8Veo6BX2puCymYWknst3wZjrXgtHY6OMx_uCDFzhFn32OxE8GgVLIDozAKtRGdGPNPSawgHe0-IKxMB3N3ooq-MpWvllGxS3L0mksvDfPxXYin53BMob2bOnXW9oh0iFWtNW2wE1IWBo/s1600/FinishedSide.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="411" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz8Veo6BX2puCymYWknst3wZjrXgtHY6OMx_uCDFzhFn32OxE8GgVLIDozAKtRGdGPNPSawgHe0-IKxMB3N3ooq-MpWvllGxS3L0mksvDfPxXYin53BMob2bOnXW9oh0iFWtNW2wE1IWBo/s640/FinishedSide.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I began by making all the flowers. For the small ones I used a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Petals-Lever-Punch-Flowers/dp/B003W0BIVK?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">McGill punch </a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B003W0BIVK" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important;" width="1" />called Petite Flowers<img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B003W0BIVK" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important;" width="1" />. It cuts three different flower heads. The leaves were die-cut from the Cricut Serenade cartridge. The polka dot glitter card stock is from the DCWV Homemade Christmas Stack. The stems were cut free hand. I inked the edges and used craft glue to assemble. I made 14 small flowers, approximately 2" tall.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSKYKdFTLekpmefNh7xWx4I0e74pYVNWF8q0SP8jj-KQ7Wzp_fJeDuD8em6mAyqemQRW1nxQlsQs_H_HB47gbMPI4EwBoyd8gD2ZuopVK34VUSMMZImXZ1djUCWKXEbXePBHMjBAyP6i25/s1600/2SmallFlowers.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="391" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSKYKdFTLekpmefNh7xWx4I0e74pYVNWF8q0SP8jj-KQ7Wzp_fJeDuD8em6mAyqemQRW1nxQlsQs_H_HB47gbMPI4EwBoyd8gD2ZuopVK34VUSMMZImXZ1djUCWKXEbXePBHMjBAyP6i25/s400/2SmallFlowers.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Then I made five larger flowers of varying sizes. These three orange flowers were cut from the Serenade cartridge...<br />

Next I die-cut 'Happy Birthday' for the sentiment. The letters were tipped this way and that to add a little whimsy. I saved the 'Happy Birthday' design to use again in the future. You can zoom in on all the photos for more detail.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSK7Vd8rQaMaYLeKJ73gkToTdqWshJBpOV0gYRadpdpWqw-EF6ZXrY-Ynh79YuWw_zpDDwrzHT-d3hnxg2o7LupQBiTsFaXWTE12xFitN3h9lF-Jc-njCc0r03V8_6kqyh7_PBtRvvzbea/s1600/7Adding+Grass.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="270" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSK7Vd8rQaMaYLeKJ73gkToTdqWshJBpOV0gYRadpdpWqw-EF6ZXrY-Ynh79YuWw_zpDDwrzHT-d3hnxg2o7LupQBiTsFaXWTE12xFitN3h9lF-Jc-njCc0r03V8_6kqyh7_PBtRvvzbea/s400/7Adding+Grass.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
The biggest flowers were adhered first. I wanted them to be the focus with the little flowers surrounding them. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRj1YriZMrQDDCM7qyA4fL8CqJUcMG5fp1Yae3dq7oXEp36iIlVuWzKU6AhdA1PqCR8kD7H8iMgqkafrPx5821ii7ZP75W0Lt-LxWVWWd711Z7MM_CN3ImoxzrNqj18PU35mfSaRooQagn/s1600/9BiggestFirst.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRj1YriZMrQDDCM7qyA4fL8CqJUcMG5fp1Yae3dq7oXEp36iIlVuWzKU6AhdA1PqCR8kD7H8iMgqkafrPx5821ii7ZP75W0Lt-LxWVWWd711Z7MM_CN3ImoxzrNqj18PU35mfSaRooQagn/s400/9BiggestFirst.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
As I arranged and adhered the small flowers I closed up the card from time to time to make sure the layers were flowing together nicely.<br />

Not long after my last post we had Blogger's several-days-long service disruption and then shortly after it was back online, my computer crashed! So, to make a long story short, I am back online and now have Windows 7 instead of Vista. Thank goodness for <b style="font-weight: normal;">a future son-in-law, who, along with his many other positive attributes, happens to be a </b><b style="font-weight: normal;">Computer support specialist</b>. I've been busy reloading my software and getting everything updated and working properly. But I still managed to get in a little craft time! The little cards you saw in my last post (<a href="http://paperoasis.blogspot.com/2011/05/workdesk-wednesday.html">http://paperoasis.blogspot.com/2011/05/workdesk-wednesday.html</a>) have been converted into a banner. Most of this card is made from a few of the papers in DCWV <i>The Botanical Stack</i>. I love the soft earthy color on these sheets.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggDi2aCnTMcZHpt8dz2hdcRtNv44zKySLfWmQo803Arl2NRQl32jBT_06oQolvhyp89ie7ml_41Fg2aqAbmMHmTkh4UMx3pXo3c98TbfSZALp1XfJgMbwiVwYM_qySpQsae2KlKzrRSTZw/s1600/DreamCard.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggDi2aCnTMcZHpt8dz2hdcRtNv44zKySLfWmQo803Arl2NRQl32jBT_06oQolvhyp89ie7ml_41Fg2aqAbmMHmTkh4UMx3pXo3c98TbfSZALp1XfJgMbwiVwYM_qySpQsae2KlKzrRSTZw/s640/DreamCard.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Sorry for the quality of these photos. Maybe someday it will stop raining and I can take pictures outside. Sigh. Anyway, I've also been craft shopping and picked up a few fun things from Michael's $1.00 bin. These little teardrop could be used in a lot of different ways to embellish cards and pages. I used a few in the center of this paper flower.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="467" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY3UD5CcQsDoJfmZQmxQYZiqn9mTjIiaHcdFg3CS8E4xwSAhEV657jkZSR9dm7LHnAvLVmOdQqHLM-LcROAoI-xsl7Cj5EhLJ7cXudXXF92xQN2PRIbskgvVoKDzuXPcIdFVbchP-AGL7L/s640/teardrops.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="640" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Recollections Boutique Fleur Mini Teardrop Gems</td></tr>
</tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Then I found this glitter that really rocks. I bought 3 bottles but after using it I went back for more. Don't tell anyone, but I'm not a big Stickles fan. I know, everyone raves over Stickles, but I've found it comes out in big messy globs, but not this stuff from the $1 bin! It has a small tip and comes out in a nice manageable line. Hmmm, maybe I should go back for more...</div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2CFfvy77N_fIn5ORmvxpKQAZukFveBKCL_wcPbgOxDeHvcpZZkWS21qC5esIMLAJIY-ih0dPQUTCAaSMIOx1tXPSHBW9-EUfn54RgavHyMjvk0aqrPz1SZT0c4lGxoJC1RK-EeeFXVo8z/s1600/glitter.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="404" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2CFfvy77N_fIn5ORmvxpKQAZukFveBKCL_wcPbgOxDeHvcpZZkWS21qC5esIMLAJIY-ih0dPQUTCAaSMIOx1tXPSHBW9-EUfn54RgavHyMjvk0aqrPz1SZT0c4lGxoJC1RK-EeeFXVo8z/s640/glitter.JPG" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Studio g Glitter Glue</td></tr>
</tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Then I found these nice rubber stamps. They're a good size and quality, not like what you usually find in the $1 bin. I also picked up more of the one dollar rhinestones (can't have too many of those, right?) and a little stapler with colored staples that was on clearance. All the Recollections stuff was 40% off, so I got a few cardstock packs and metallic mini brads.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGr0eFyjN0K1AWZ47snV1n8If0YQlsfCzSlCFWtQqoAnm6NaKOs3PH8oJ6ZQJv7vGX8aQUMuKguhENPEOVuJRGGoxuvgQS1JOOHfhspgcBw7ltB2TFzPw9nX2O2AKWaqFfocsftWRKFDXz/s1600/stamps.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="336" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGr0eFyjN0K1AWZ47snV1n8If0YQlsfCzSlCFWtQqoAnm6NaKOs3PH8oJ6ZQJv7vGX8aQUMuKguhENPEOVuJRGGoxuvgQS1JOOHfhspgcBw7ltB2TFzPw9nX2O2AKWaqFfocsftWRKFDXz/s640/stamps.JPG" width="640" /></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I was watching paper flowers tutorials on You Tube a few days before my traumatic computer crash. I appreciate the comments in response to my last post and all of you who emailed me or contacted me through yahoo groups to answer my question (if there is interest in photos of the various stages of creating a card). So, in the future I <i>will</i> take more photos to share my card-making process with you (such as it sometimes is, LOL). Now I'm off to Michael's for more glitter glue! I hope everyone has a relaxing weekend and thank you for visiting Paper Oasis!<br />

I thought I'd join in and give you a glimpse of what I'm working on this week. I haven't cleaned up from the last couple of projects so "it is what it is". I have so many ideas that I often can't wait to start the next project before cleaning up the clutter from the last. I'm working on a garden themed card using the sketch from this weeks challenge at <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/blog/?p=5477">My Favorite Things</a>. I should have taken a photo of my trash can because half of my ideas for the card went there last night! <br />

I've gotten pretty good at tossing something that just isn't working out. I've been wondering if you might like to see photos of the various stages of creating a card, not just the finished card. I know most of you know the techniques involved, but show more of the thinking process that went into making the card. Photos of what I think works, what I toss out, etc. What do you think? Leave a comment and let me know, and thank you for visiting Paper Oasis!<br />

My husband made my mom, our daughters and their families, and I a big dinner for Mother's Day; stuffed mushrooms, Chicken Cordon Bleu (with the most fabulous cream sauce), twice-baked potatoes, green beans, rolls, and dessert. Thank you honey, it was delicious!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Wow, I don't know how long it will last but we finally have sunshine today in Ohio. I decided to play along with <a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/">Mojo Monday's</a> sketch this week, and the sunshine inspired me to make this card.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWFcFxp9KsT-mx2I5KTbmcVkl0FZimfO_ycZhvkiDKAgVYT_aEtngeIaayLlIZEAZs5rJ7pHW4piCK7K8-PrCkVQJDRTlyZPtQW6CQG5TMBS4-meDo2HBbOBlnTKTzRJLfMGuEZD4dGFMR/s1600/Full+Sun+Mojo1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWFcFxp9KsT-mx2I5KTbmcVkl0FZimfO_ycZhvkiDKAgVYT_aEtngeIaayLlIZEAZs5rJ7pHW4piCK7K8-PrCkVQJDRTlyZPtQW6CQG5TMBS4-meDo2HBbOBlnTKTzRJLfMGuEZD4dGFMR/s640/Full+Sun+Mojo1.JPG" width="570" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I'm going to try to post more often and thought entering a few challenges might kick my you-know-what in gear. Hope everyone is able to find some crafting time today! As promised last post, today's card is featuring the blue rose from March's Flower Tutorial. <br />
( <a href="http://paperoasis.blogspot.com/2011/03/paper-roses-picture-tutorial.html">http://paperoasis.blogspot.com/2011/03/paper-roses-picture-tutorial.html</a> ) Along with the rose I made some glittery flourishes for embellishments. I cut them out with my <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-29-0001-Personal-Electronic-Cutting/dp/B000W5I9OC?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Baby Bug </a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B000W5I9OC" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" />and the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-Solutions-Cartridge-Home-Accents/dp/B003H6JP00?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Home Accents cartridge</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B003H6JP00" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" />, then added glue and glitter. They match the coppery glitter flourishes already printed on the right side of the paper.<br />

I haven't posted for a while, I've been making cards. :) I've been wanting to use the paper roses from the rose tutorial posted in March. The card I came up with for the red rose is below. The striped paper, birds and butterfly were all cut from the 12" x 12" DCWV <i>"The Botanicals Stack</i>". I love the images and designs in this paper stack. If you haven't seen it, you must check it out next time you're craft shopping.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><img border="0" height="496" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbo-cMyNps3RaIipCbrwAA1L8yW0uaEkdY6q5iF-kINKYJrSETOI-QP06NB3BLSda5uDG30W54rO412kBZaAya-KfX6QaQRiLJToC7OMUCwWPtCq0Cqf1Wb6RFevsCbaBlPHeaHPWz7hpE/s640/TravelingBirds1.JPG" width="640" /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Originally the birds were in a different cage. It took up too much space and was three-dimensional looking, showing the top and side of the cage which wasn't working for this card. So I cut away the top and side and used <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-29-0001-Personal-Electronic-Cutting/dp/B000W5I9OC?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Cricut</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B000W5I9OC" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> and the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Provo-Craft-Novelty-Cricut-291059/dp/B003EO9S4S?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Serenade cartridge</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B003EO9S4S" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> to die cut a different cage and put the birds in (behind) it. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQlsBo14KGjKsqvgYmhmipnvMkiQZjLc3yBx-0Ir1QOu8vcD51f4UU5UBQxylclXNUSW7HTSysq3gnGj32ZcijL8ZHvO-3_gZO4Pd21sUb3OhYEfl4lNoymSQ6ZYPfeEpz3xvK0QwdAQKZ/s1600/Birdcage.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQlsBo14KGjKsqvgYmhmipnvMkiQZjLc3yBx-0Ir1QOu8vcD51f4UU5UBQxylclXNUSW7HTSysq3gnGj32ZcijL8ZHvO-3_gZO4Pd21sUb3OhYEfl4lNoymSQ6ZYPfeEpz3xvK0QwdAQKZ/s640/Birdcage.JPG" width="472" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I cut the birdcage from black card stock and put a clear glitter on it which gave it a sort of green hue. The birds were already glittery (which is making it hard for me to get a good photo). I also added a little of the same glitter to the red rose. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMkBp3LXGjeONcesyJrVaqs4s9DvjCxy6Boh30JS4lS3Lb6LG0gufFrXRRV8VRpns2oBDhBQ3xMvZheGC5sqc9e_iS54YkSy6pQ0O5uREh46R1E287tJQCQkDHeBkyoBE8epGNL6Ak_PdX/s1600/rose.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="592" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMkBp3LXGjeONcesyJrVaqs4s9DvjCxy6Boh30JS4lS3Lb6LG0gufFrXRRV8VRpns2oBDhBQ3xMvZheGC5sqc9e_iS54YkSy6pQ0O5uREh46R1E287tJQCQkDHeBkyoBE8epGNL6Ak_PdX/s640/rose.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For the sentiment I used a quote from the little vellum quote pads sold at Joann's. I put the quote on top of a vintage postcard scrap from my stash. I thought the quote was perfect because it looks like the butterfly is taking the birds on a site seeing trip! Oh, and I made little antenna for the butterfly from craft wire. Next post, I will show you the card I made using the blue rose from the tutorial.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">On a totally different note, I thought some of you might be interested in a diet site I recently joined. It's called Fat Secret http://www.fatsecret.com (I'm not in anyway connected to this site except as a member.) It is totally free and IMO the best diet site on the web! You can follow the diet of your choice, Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers, Calorie Count, and many others. Or you can follow your own plan. It has the best food database and nutritional information I've found anywhere online. You choose what you ate from the database and enter it into your food diary with a click. It keeps track of your fat, carbs, and protein grams, calories, etc. There are forums, challenges, buddies, recipes and just lots of community support. I'm "Cindy 23" on the site if you want to look me up. (BTW, the 23 refers to how many pounds I want to lose this summer- not my age- LOL I wish!)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

Well, it is true, I do like to get involved in time consuming projects, but today I'm going to feature a card that is relatively simple to make. The daisy family of five on my card reflects my own family. My husband and I have been blessed with three wonderful daughters. This flower family theme might work well for a Mother's day card or a new baby card. Imagine how cute it would look with an itty-bitty baby flower!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><img border="0" height="472" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWxqKY1tiP0XktaQV2CjE4XFC2lakf5SLJf8cuE5mP8H3AdK-RPG0NfmR1mhRPjQqGMKLaqwZdNhGoF2vi9DrJHwZXeKT7rE4Zn2ks8zhLQYr367FNl8F-qbWGFQ1O0pUER4aUSEs-xdL_/s640/family2.JPG" width="640" /> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">All the die cuts were done with my Cricut <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-29-0001-Personal-Electronic-Cutting/dp/B000W5I9OC?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Baby Bug</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B000W5I9OC" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> varying the sizes for each daisy. The daisies are from the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-29-0223-Garden-Shape-Cartridge/dp/B000LLX4EW?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Walk in My Garden</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B000LLX4EW" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /><iframe align="left" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=papoas-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=B000LLX4EW&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="height: 245px; padding-right: 10px; padding-top: 5px; width: 131px;"></iframe><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B000LLX4EW" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> cartridge. Instead of leaves on my flower stems I used the hearts from the bleeding heart flower from the same cartridge. The lettering is from <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-Font-Cartridge-Lyrical-Letters/dp/B003T17RXA?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Lyrical Letters</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B003T17RXA" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" />, the Loop Dee Loo font. For those of you not familiar with Lyrical Letters it is a great font cartridge with 6 different fonts. The paper is from <a href="http://www.amazon.com/KandCompany-Coffey-Blossomwood-12-inch-12-Inch/dp/B003334IOK?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">K&Company</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B003334IOK" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" />. To finished it off I used a little blue glitter. </div><br />
On a different note, I have been trying to improve my photography skills for you! I think I'm getting a little better. I read a great tutorial on Split Coast Stampers called <i><b style="font-weight: normal;">Photographing Your Papercrafting Projects</b></i> by PickleTree. There are two sheets of each design in this paper pad, just enough to do a little 3D layering with the lilac bunch I chose for my card. The dragonfly and little butterfly are also from the same two sheets. I knew my card needed some extra embellishing but I wanted to keep the lilacs as the focal point. So I turned to my most cherished paper crafting book <i><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Delight-Details-Techniques-Charming-Embellishments/dp/1599630850?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Delight in the Details</a></i><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=1599630850" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> by Lisa M. When it came in the mail I took a quick scan though it and then spent the next several days studying every photo and reading every word. It is that good! This book is where I got the idea for the felt flowers and felt background behind the lilacs. The first time I saw the photos in the book of the cream colored embroidery on the cream colored felt, I thought it was so beautifully elegant I knew I had to do something similar someday!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnC5qh-NbeX75apz2h2HpT_h8-xidbPq0F7iW3a0oTkvQU011_9_mGORzU3zDUg0aY-PMYQKDsL42MK59IJc-6dquBelj74v8MmXbIXMT5OyGUjUFE8jZnCqhfGtweq_vWCEIqqplWlNeG/s1600/lilacfeltdetail.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="374" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnC5qh-NbeX75apz2h2HpT_h8-xidbPq0F7iW3a0oTkvQU011_9_mGORzU3zDUg0aY-PMYQKDsL42MK59IJc-6dquBelj74v8MmXbIXMT5OyGUjUFE8jZnCqhfGtweq_vWCEIqqplWlNeG/s640/lilacfeltdetail.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>I really can't go into detail about how to make the embroidered leaves and felt flowers because it is copyrighted. I can tell you how I cut the felt background though - I used Cricut and selected a frame from the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-29-0589-Cartridge-Storybook/dp/B001BJNM0Y?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Storybook</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B001BJNM0Y" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /><iframe align="left" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=papoas-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=B001BJNM0Y&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="height: 245px; padding-right: 10px; padding-top: 5px; width: 131px;"></iframe> cartridge to make a card stock pattern then traced around it onto the felt and cut it out by hand. Die cuts of these frames are also great to rubber stamp on. Color your image, ink the frame edge and you have a great vocal point for your card! The card stock I used for the card itself was from <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Makers-Textured-Brights-Cardstock-Colors/dp/B001IKI7OM?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">DCWV Textured Brights</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B001IKI7OM" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> stack - perfect match! The lace and buttons are from my stash. I painted the buttons and the wings on the dragonfly and butterfly with a light coat of a pearly acrylic paint. I hope you like my lilac card and thank you for visiting Paper Oasis! Cindy<br />

I love looking at paper crafting sites and blogs to see what everyone is up to, but I rarely join in on the card challenges. I really don't like to have requirements or restrictions when I'm crafting. After all, this is my <b><i>oasis.</i></b> But once in a while it's fun to give a challenge a try. Joan's Gardens (<a href="http://joanscreations.blogspot.com/">joanscreations.blogspot.com</a>), does a weekly card and tag challenge. For Joan's card challenge number #11 the requirements were to use the colors peach and teal, use butterflies and add something frilly. So, keeping in mind that I'm not very good at following directions, this is the card I came up with:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimqvVzADzysaRJMI5iv7XOJI_Nc_pbN92EsqY9jgrV4fYLMXsJIa-Rzhc4p2dz41NOKUZZuc9Bx5xaK96uXsCMrscvG9EGKQsfW7kEf6mxhIS49DfUtsJcMsh8hgodX1_JxDZCoKvXDoVk/s1600/tealpeach2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimqvVzADzysaRJMI5iv7XOJI_Nc_pbN92EsqY9jgrV4fYLMXsJIa-Rzhc4p2dz41NOKUZZuc9Bx5xaK96uXsCMrscvG9EGKQsfW7kEf6mxhIS49DfUtsJcMsh8hgodX1_JxDZCoKvXDoVk/s1600/tealpeach2.JPG" /></a></div><br />
The colors were easy enough, I love peach and teal. The butterfly, well, I'm pretty sure it's actually a moth. But his color was perfect, much better than my butterfly alternatives, so who could resist? As for frilly, my flower is quite frilly I do believe. It's a mum made from just regular card stock. The tutorial for making it was found on this most wonderful paper crafting blog, <a href="http://jerrikay.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2010/09/29/mum-tutorial-part-i/"><i>A Touch of Grace</i></a> by Jerri Kay. Jerri's mums are much more "mum like" than mine (try saying that 10 times fast), probably because when it comes to following instructions I'm easily distracted and tend to go off on my own tangent. In fact, I was so distracted that I never got around to entering my finished card in Joan's challenge. Well, maybe next time. The moth and two little flower motifs were cut from K&Company's <a href="http://www.amazon.com/KandCompany-Sera-Designer-12-Inch-Paper/dp/B001VGEPHQ?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Que Sera Sera</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B001VGEPHQ" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> paper pad. The peachy color paper was from K&C's <a href="http://www.amazon.com/KandCompany-Winget-Blossom-Designer-12-Inch/dp/B004GURJR2?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Spring Blossom</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B004GURJR2" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> paper pad<img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B004GURJR2" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" />.<br />

Especially roses. After a few botched attempts I finally came up with a pattern and method that I like. This is done totally by hand but you could use a die cutting system like <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-29-0001-Personal-Electronic-Cutting/dp/B000W5I9OC?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Cricut</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B000W5I9OC" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> with <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-DesignStudio-Software-Bonus-Pack/dp/B0012NCIPY?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Design Studio</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B0012NCIPY" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> or <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Gypsy-Handheld-Design-Studio-Cricut/dp/B002TRRN8E?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Gypsy</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B002TRRN8E" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> to design and cut your petals. This makes a big rose, about 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" without the leaves. You could scale the pattern up or down to make other sizes. I wanted a rose with a text background on the petals so I used pages from an old book for the paper. Below is my finished red rose and I will show you how to make a blue rose. I made the patterns from card stock. You can see their approximate size on the cutting mat.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGT8G9C7_dDpEB6ago-mr6_717z6Sgo6f0OJ_nz9vKOJcnUE3UyUHhQ3fAXVO_7vgc4pi2X2cc0iaY_86RC9-yCpJt-sfqAGDB8YUW5_SO0xW0WWoUaNAN66595tcz7WlZoBvX_ck1hTDx/s1600/new1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGT8G9C7_dDpEB6ago-mr6_717z6Sgo6f0OJ_nz9vKOJcnUE3UyUHhQ3fAXVO_7vgc4pi2X2cc0iaY_86RC9-yCpJt-sfqAGDB8YUW5_SO0xW0WWoUaNAN66595tcz7WlZoBvX_ck1hTDx/s640/new1.JPG" width="542" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

If you look closely at the above red rose you see the text pretty clearly on the petals. For the blue rose I wanted a softer look so I painted a watered down cream colored acrylic paint on the pages. I used an old Macintosh Bible for the pages, way out of date, the Mac G3 that went with it, long gone extinct. Use a medium weight paper, not a flimsy bargain paperback paper but not heavily coated quality either. You should still see the text though the paint, just softer.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN5Ppg61Ygpu6z65sQOIfRvr6RGAMq3bsN6AT6IJmdocWecK3W7DHFIX4oh8beqh1iGJAHnEMjHVcz5J2cNk8RPA60a_2lMzy9WdDV6w_tryTBFGV7wRtB8s0KzzshZ4utL8kcrRdd8tzM/s1600/rose+tutorial2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="364" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN5Ppg61Ygpu6z65sQOIfRvr6RGAMq3bsN6AT6IJmdocWecK3W7DHFIX4oh8beqh1iGJAHnEMjHVcz5J2cNk8RPA60a_2lMzy9WdDV6w_tryTBFGV7wRtB8s0KzzshZ4utL8kcrRdd8tzM/s640/rose+tutorial2.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>After the paper dries, crumble it up a couple of times and then smooth it out. This softens the paper, makes it more pliable plus adds a nice crinkly texture.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixZ23kldYNDFhszrEfKDUnlbTBU5OG5eZPmZJlq4MgdB-IXTLhk1GOU3S_USpaA06g__oJZ8yfRfViCVcu0rvzliTz7MTXi1kjv6Gt0C5I9feueVQIJV-WmYElZWXBs5_IBUkCXu-h4BNj/s1600/rose+tutorial3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixZ23kldYNDFhszrEfKDUnlbTBU5OG5eZPmZJlq4MgdB-IXTLhk1GOU3S_USpaA06g__oJZ8yfRfViCVcu0rvzliTz7MTXi1kjv6Gt0C5I9feueVQIJV-WmYElZWXBs5_IBUkCXu-h4BNj/s640/rose+tutorial3.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Next, choose a rubber stamp, it doesn't matter what the image is, with a combination of heavy and thin lines. (I used a SU stamp from a set called Fine Vine) Ink it and then stamp several times on your paper before inking again so you get some darker and lighter abstract impressions.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxJjCjmnAwMU_z-jMSBwLwe47AyUdyYXp1P2M1EIo8KBM6BJNKKmfJ1HFJHmnaqFYIYZU4toADH0NCkQy_hVZBLF5fUwWpoc-AqnSVpiqTWFha-SlRF3u1-0mFxZebQ_O8FkYo3jxSl_yg/s1600/rose+tutorial4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="380" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxJjCjmnAwMU_z-jMSBwLwe47AyUdyYXp1P2M1EIo8KBM6BJNKKmfJ1HFJHmnaqFYIYZU4toADH0NCkQy_hVZBLF5fUwWpoc-AqnSVpiqTWFha-SlRF3u1-0mFxZebQ_O8FkYo3jxSl_yg/s640/rose+tutorial4.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>You don't actually want to make out the design, just get the color on the paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF3PoKHkZUtW9xEgGNNgnLtg6fl3caITocLYoTNddB9ssBAk8qlWTkJkIofRR3uBv1qTjwV8r4gxyxA-kPYe_EcH7ZmVSeOnbDn7W7JN-qfeGYWAYyB8dKzZ7omr6slGK4scan4NPXkgoO/s1600/rose+tutorial5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="340" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF3PoKHkZUtW9xEgGNNgnLtg6fl3caITocLYoTNddB9ssBAk8qlWTkJkIofRR3uBv1qTjwV8r4gxyxA-kPYe_EcH7ZmVSeOnbDn7W7JN-qfeGYWAYyB8dKzZ7omr6slGK4scan4NPXkgoO/s640/rose+tutorial5.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Then on <b>the back </b>of the paper (the unpainted side) trace around the petal patterns. You do <b>not</b> have to be really precise with this, a fast trace around is good enough. Turn the pattern in different directions so the type goes in different directions on the petals. I ended up using about 11 of the large petals and about 13 medium and 13 small for my flower. I'd make a few extra of each. For the leaves I just drew a petal shape by hand. Make the leaves bigger than you think you'll need and draw a little "fish tail" on one end of each leaf (scroll down several photos to see fish tail). <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDfpenryfItAPIMmlCzBl0qiAt8wzQh9P_7R_B4xIohAMqddBSVl4rTJsv9oIcD16g7-Ag8Ldmh-NkZ59hHr4aFXDubzCum44MTUKjA3CxgHV7pieYEopUzSo0hSOrgnvZm-zGaqV3T77L/s1600/rose+tutorial6.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="412" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDfpenryfItAPIMmlCzBl0qiAt8wzQh9P_7R_B4xIohAMqddBSVl4rTJsv9oIcD16g7-Ag8Ldmh-NkZ59hHr4aFXDubzCum44MTUKjA3CxgHV7pieYEopUzSo0hSOrgnvZm-zGaqV3T77L/s640/rose+tutorial6.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
I promise it doesn't take too long to cut these out! You don't have to be really neat about it, just try to have a smooth wavy top edge on the petals, the rest doesn't matter so much. It will go faster if you separate each petal from the sheet first before cutting it out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyOUeRiXX91uaxve3Gtn4P3yE3tvRuAFflmTIQ9vI25KYt8noxx4BN_SoMUarYNtLSDZg-5QZs_snnBGj67niMseuCp22DqI2xqfGElYrGKSS5B6miwKQjM5ggIHDiqOKPkMHUh8AdEW-1/s1600/rose+tutorial7.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyOUeRiXX91uaxve3Gtn4P3yE3tvRuAFflmTIQ9vI25KYt8noxx4BN_SoMUarYNtLSDZg-5QZs_snnBGj67niMseuCp22DqI2xqfGElYrGKSS5B6miwKQjM5ggIHDiqOKPkMHUh8AdEW-1/s640/rose+tutorial7.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Once you have your petals cut out, run the top edge of each one across the ink pad, this with give each petal definition and improve the look of the finished rose.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVZsHrJY_WcKKjm1EuijjKbptUOf065SJEjiJv-nBtLPol9sf9j-wVbzb33BwN17fMxYaE04JpML2x4_Vs7C-niIdXBjitY6gMu_-OaCWEE2nskJW-o8L5PpfILgRsUV6DnKE6lrBywOWr/s1600/rose+tutorial8.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="412" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVZsHrJY_WcKKjm1EuijjKbptUOf065SJEjiJv-nBtLPol9sf9j-wVbzb33BwN17fMxYaE04JpML2x4_Vs7C-niIdXBjitY6gMu_-OaCWEE2nskJW-o8L5PpfILgRsUV6DnKE6lrBywOWr/s640/rose+tutorial8.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
To begin shaping each petal use something like the handle of a small paintbrush to curl. I just used the metal part of a stylus. You want to make the curl tighter than you think it should be.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ2GLt6F1qkr4M924_VMPx1JWjDTJ7zV2UfMYZpuyYkh7lvmGirg7jY1HMlmOiDnDtdIKlld43pIIxPFPnxY1IMMK8WPgk57Dnx59JXYPYPST5AS35ictq1CN6f6YzGuRf9abT9fMIBrTg/s1600/rose+tutorial9.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="464" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ2GLt6F1qkr4M924_VMPx1JWjDTJ7zV2UfMYZpuyYkh7lvmGirg7jY1HMlmOiDnDtdIKlld43pIIxPFPnxY1IMMK8WPgk57Dnx59JXYPYPST5AS35ictq1CN6f6YzGuRf9abT9fMIBrTg/s640/rose+tutorial9.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Then pinch the narrow tab end with one hand and shape the petal with your other hand into a nice shape.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="352" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9u7Ml87heznpV__u7xzu3OGJs-PnZJvFeu4Xc8c4uoVfCwgOPvLN7QkAQ5s0h2QRG6jJnlBfjrbQu8rd5db5UYoSNEh_gDH9C1YK6KQRxMEbugW6maLbWk7mTsmWsn9KxF6n5hWX54wwg/s640/rose+tutorial10.JPG" width="640" /> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This next part is a little hard to explain but you need to give the tab end a little twist to flatten it down against the mat and bend the petal so it stands up. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZgeyncldxpK37yOKGmtrh91FmO9tnjthQoPNgR7OCOR_Qn3Ai6Tee7MHg1nIwC7eZC5PnURRSVlna8E0U1nEIIejxnfemhUX0xsMmj7Id2WL7Kknd4X3_Fj_wSxw65MTv2O16RyySfKV6/s1600/rose+tutorial14.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="442" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZgeyncldxpK37yOKGmtrh91FmO9tnjthQoPNgR7OCOR_Qn3Ai6Tee7MHg1nIwC7eZC5PnURRSVlna8E0U1nEIIejxnfemhUX0xsMmj7Id2WL7Kknd4X3_Fj_wSxw65MTv2O16RyySfKV6/s640/rose+tutorial14.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Next the leaves. Rose leaves have a jagged edge. For the red rose I snipped into each leaf to create the edge like the leaf in the center of the below photo. For the blue rose I used my decorative scissors that cut a very small scallop. If you use these, you have to make sure you're making the cut from the right direction so you don't get the scallop going out of the leaf instead of into the leaf, if you know what I mean. However you decide to do the edge, fold the leaf in half lengthwise to ink a line down the center for the vein and ink the edges. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikrZPbMge4kMVHJDXvIrzSz8PpWr0iqG4WWCKKRf_gvT1uHii-189az3IZm5upoluOEWrMZp6-f6WnhvMaT5wheuL18NHfR6HcvYDzYyu6PI2-9lK-QlEUrkp104eJZ8xZEuP4g9Xavosn/s1600/rose+tutorial11.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="380" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikrZPbMge4kMVHJDXvIrzSz8PpWr0iqG4WWCKKRf_gvT1uHii-189az3IZm5upoluOEWrMZp6-f6WnhvMaT5wheuL18NHfR6HcvYDzYyu6PI2-9lK-QlEUrkp104eJZ8xZEuP4g9Xavosn/s640/rose+tutorial11.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Then pinching the "fish tail" in one hand, shape it into a nice leaf shape with the other.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkZNkFShffcdEZGLedJ0WMFHI7OyXlgIv4fHAabaKNJ0EBM3whLvsVC9s-1w1AhDJgu1tsvr9TJmHipVajENw55XFnGkdSqMln45KbRq-NjIFDLHm1P2yxNAK6F6FyCPb7-4hCQ6Sf1VUi/s1600/rose+tutorial12.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="352" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkZNkFShffcdEZGLedJ0WMFHI7OyXlgIv4fHAabaKNJ0EBM3whLvsVC9s-1w1AhDJgu1tsvr9TJmHipVajENw55XFnGkdSqMln45KbRq-NjIFDLHm1P2yxNAK6F6FyCPb7-4hCQ6Sf1VUi/s640/rose+tutorial12.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Now you're ready to assemble the flower. Cut a round base from card stock. Cut it smaller than you think it should be. See photo. The small base will help give the rose a nice shape and dimension. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDbSLr9GCMWsyfcEL6W5blatDU89oSALwuEd1JDjVQjsNGdNX66Ggcqk974XQhQSvmrVG5RJl07vZ0m9NgT1PrppxlBVSn7Wk1soe6L6P5mRf9YE5GMN_yyYW8pKm7fkuPRa0UQn3U4d54/s1600/rose+tutorial13.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="396" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDbSLr9GCMWsyfcEL6W5blatDU89oSALwuEd1JDjVQjsNGdNX66Ggcqk974XQhQSvmrVG5RJl07vZ0m9NgT1PrppxlBVSn7Wk1soe6L6P5mRf9YE5GMN_yyYW8pKm7fkuPRa0UQn3U4d54/s640/rose+tutorial13.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Put a thin line of glue around the outer edge of the circle, I used <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Aleenes-oz-Original-Tacky-Glue/dp/B00178KLEY?ie=UTF8&tag=papoas-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Aleenes's Tacky Glue</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B00178KLEY" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" />. Start gluing on the larger petals, at least 8 evenly spaced. Use a stylus or something similar to firmly press down the petal tab into the glue. The petals should be standing up pretty straight at this point. As you add more petals it will naturally "bloom".</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioqLXexYrquEZ11m1It4Rb4wBLKC08J5W-gM3R6jZ-3iSy6s7h6oVEy3BCcNFntvYIAaPX6Myd8J1kuNwPCL4Wxlzn_nXBKhd6uDNOlQmH5vv8YPVSOMBXvRBLnfNjeMf25YdPazLJxQZA/s1600/rose+tutoria15.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioqLXexYrquEZ11m1It4Rb4wBLKC08J5W-gM3R6jZ-3iSy6s7h6oVEy3BCcNFntvYIAaPX6Myd8J1kuNwPCL4Wxlzn_nXBKhd6uDNOlQmH5vv8YPVSOMBXvRBLnfNjeMf25YdPazLJxQZA/s640/rose+tutoria15.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Add another circle of glue and with the medium petals work your way around the center, staggering the petals so they don't line up with the one behind them. You should end up with at least two circular rows of medium petals before you start on the small ones. After you glue in a few small petals you may have to start trimming off the tab end a little so they fit naturally inside the flower. When you get to the very center, roll a few petals together, cut off the excess tab ends and glue in. This can be a little tricky so have a few extra small petals just in case you don't like your first try. It's nice to have three leaves on your flower, two together on one side, one opposite. Just glue them on underneath the flower.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

And here are the finished roses. You can see the difference the acrylic paint made in softening the blue flower.<br />

Just what the world needs, right? Another crafty blogger. Not only that, but I really don't know how this Blogger thing works. But hey, ignorance never stopped me before! So here goes...<br />
<br />
For the last <i>two weeks</i> I've spent my free time deciding a name and creating a header for my blog. (I'm hoping the rest of this blogging stuff goes a lot faster or I won't have any time left to craft.) After digging around on the internet I found this fabulous site, http://shabbyblogs.com with 100% <i>free</i> blogwear. Really great quality stuff. I highly recommend it. So I downloaded a header and changed a few details and added my title and name and put it on the blog page and... It. Just. Wasn't. Me. So... I found this site, http://www.shabbymissjenndesigns.com with the most wondrously fantastic digital scrappy stuff <i>evver</i>. After mulling over the selections for <i>days </i>I finally chose a blogwear set for an extremely reasonable price. I downloaded it, changed a few details and added my title and name and put it on the blog page and... It. Just. Wasn't. Me.<br />
<br />
So... after much ado, the above header you now see <i>is</i> me. And it was made from the first card I would like to share with you. It's a stair step card. (Google "stair step card" for how-to.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZmFv9iRFTHGLozQo12rDUsxZyvjejpWzOneQX8V2OaTl7Cx1Nml0UYoqMMammH4mp0ipBNcsVevV_S3xTEoZ6WfxZ-4qZmejHAaOsSgQ3TtM9IOyZTEx11JVZHh6rEsYXJi6fldJhcGFq/s1600/front2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrXnQS-wOkPSjDUEtXgZwH9lnUGPYxY5M3Eokbdi3UXYUYk0olLaZgykaWOj-Jg1o0cGYo5kYLD81b6gRRBTaaJvdaYVPiLTyeGDltS2BIaEchEH4SxOSkZc8pPh7mbMdoJ0io5iO15WWf/s1600/front2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="427" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrXnQS-wOkPSjDUEtXgZwH9lnUGPYxY5M3Eokbdi3UXYUYk0olLaZgykaWOj-Jg1o0cGYo5kYLD81b6gRRBTaaJvdaYVPiLTyeGDltS2BIaEchEH4SxOSkZc8pPh7mbMdoJ0io5iO15WWf/s640/front2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It's hard to see the "steps" so here is each one separately.<br />
This is the 1st step,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbbcNhlko6sw1UBcr5tCmpEMYM7TucOuZuCAtWZ8CC5OjXaPDt4_nNa5ww_jJoQukPLUSCmISi1FcDiR3HihsD3cQs0rWYGj-6Pl7tpNiXs7WHXFMBLGP7qORgUnt_U8BdueLE8TgISQBq/s1600/1st.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbbcNhlko6sw1UBcr5tCmpEMYM7TucOuZuCAtWZ8CC5OjXaPDt4_nNa5ww_jJoQukPLUSCmISi1FcDiR3HihsD3cQs0rWYGj-6Pl7tpNiXs7WHXFMBLGP7qORgUnt_U8BdueLE8TgISQBq/s640/1st.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
then the 2nd,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8BFoWYt1i0tRrxO6dZpD-4uiYrF3w9hM5nImMFSLVqYsCnTJpIT16fDPAVWUpjUVNiHIbNzqSwMRNGMGwd5FxVfVE1JYGPdpxU_OftzFcsEvgCZGajIn4KA16njtZOf6v_TDQFTAFKPL8/s1600/2nd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="162" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8BFoWYt1i0tRrxO6dZpD-4uiYrF3w9hM5nImMFSLVqYsCnTJpIT16fDPAVWUpjUVNiHIbNzqSwMRNGMGwd5FxVfVE1JYGPdpxU_OftzFcsEvgCZGajIn4KA16njtZOf6v_TDQFTAFKPL8/s640/2nd.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
then the 3rd. This is the photo I made my banner from.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgUkNPqPz2IqUjWcvMnhyDT2mgKE2pl6HN7Tb4k8LlHJdEGXqEK8UG3LQ9IBQNO8AtTbW-ncEwVdnW5tUohGyZLmW3aoN3sg4OeP6xb4J1Cbb6_zq6lSCLKojEkghA-bxpYL4qR4Z5K1Cp/s1600/3rd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="244" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgUkNPqPz2IqUjWcvMnhyDT2mgKE2pl6HN7Tb4k8LlHJdEGXqEK8UG3LQ9IBQNO8AtTbW-ncEwVdnW5tUohGyZLmW3aoN3sg4OeP6xb4J1Cbb6_zq6lSCLKojEkghA-bxpYL4qR4Z5K1Cp/s640/3rd.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
And here's the card folded to place in the envelope.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp7oW9Y663ryrqLMZLlZrBjcg8zDYs7ckmTzVEwIF5qbNI79nJykfVYXcQr8Y7km8ZhwxAo9OyNr29DLIgIdMrM2ENTDnyzrue7qWKmKMfyeV3iQodv8fzPh7-GVw9bTgSnOhFVKE4Wt5R/s1600/closedcard2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp7oW9Y663ryrqLMZLlZrBjcg8zDYs7ckmTzVEwIF5qbNI79nJykfVYXcQr8Y7km8ZhwxAo9OyNr29DLIgIdMrM2ENTDnyzrue7qWKmKMfyeV3iQodv8fzPh7-GVw9bTgSnOhFVKE4Wt5R/s640/closedcard2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used Cricut's Walk in My Garden<i><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B000LLX4EW" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /></i> cartridge along with a McGill punch<img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B001C2KFJQ" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /><iframe align="left" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=papoas-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=B001C2KFJQ&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="height: 245px; padding-right: 10px; padding-top: 5px; width: 131px;"></iframe> for the flowers and Cricut's Give a Hoot<img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B003EO9S34" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> cartridge for the phrase. Everything was cut from K&Company's Que Sera Sera Designer Paper<img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=papoas-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B001VGEPHQ" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" /> Pad. I love this paper pad, it cuts great in the Cricut and the textures and colors really enhance plain jane diecuts. It's been out for quite a while now but you can still buy it. Also added a little bling and rickrack. Other than that it just took a <i>reeeally loooong </i>time to make but I think it will make a great Mother's Day card this year! I welcome any comments, questions, or suggestions and thank you for visiting my Paper Oasis!<br />
